Christmas Card 2024/25

Nicht müde werden sondern dem Wunder leise wie einem Vogel die Hand hinhalten.

Do not tire but reach out to the miracle softly like to a bird your hand.

Ne pas se lasser mais au miracle doucement comme à un oiseau tendre la main.

Hilde Domin
(1909-2006)

About the works

This year, the KROHNE Art Collection is presenting two new pieces from different cultural backgrounds.

The paintings by Turkish artist Gülden Artun read like a score of sounds, shapes and colors that seem to tell of dreams that we no longer remember exactly, but which follow their own inner logic.

In all her artistic works - works on paper, paintings, drawings, frottages, objects - the reference to her own experience is important to her.

Anyone who is interested in Far Eastern art knows that traditional ink painting and calligraphy play an important role. The Japanese painter Jiro Unno, who lives in the mountains near Tokyo, follows this centuries-old tradition masterfully, but takes a completely new and unconventional path here, bringing this technique into the modern age.

The works of both artists draw their inspiration from the abundance of nature, which also gave rise to hopeful words for the poet Hilde Domin.
